What Should You Do If You Think Your Fair Housing Rights Have Been Violated?

If you think your rights to fair housing have been violated, help is available. Housing discrimination complaints can be filed by phone or in writing, with the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and/or with the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.

You can file an online complaint at the HUD website:

You may file a complaint with the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights within 180 days of the date of the alleged violation. The complaint must be filed at one of the following regional offices.
